Lynn Swadley Professional PicLynn R. Swadley – President

Lynn is the Founder and President of Sunrise Builders Inc. Lynn was born in Oklahoma, raised in Texas, and when he moved to the Upper Peninsula in 1976, he wanted to start his own company. He started Sunrise Builders in January of 1977. He has nearly 40 years of experience in the construction and development field. Lynn has developed some of the Marquette area’s finest neighborhoods, such as the Summits, Huron Woods, Granite Pointe, and Harlow Farms. He is a well known and respected Builder, Developer and Home designer in the State. He is dedicated to his profession and a strong believer in community service having served on dozens of State and local Boards, Committees and Commissions. Lynn has twice served as the UP Builders Association President, and also the Vice President of the Michigan Association of Home Builders. He is a Licensed Builder and a Licensed Real Estate Broker in the state of Michigan, and holds a CGB designation from the National Association of Home Builders. He is one of the few select Builders in the State of Michigan to have received the prestigious Michigan Housing Achievement Award in 2003. Lynn and his wife of thirty years Christine live in Marquette, and enjoy spending time with their large family and the great UP outdoors.

Andrea L’Huillier – Vice President/ Corporate Financial Officer

Andrea joined the Sunrise Builders team in March of 2004. Andrea has over 15 years experience in the field of Finance. She was born in Grand Rapids, MN, and raised in Marquette, MI. She graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor in Business Administration in Corporate Finance. Andrea and her husband Nathan, reside in Marquette, along with their sons Peyton and Leland. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, enjoying the outdoors, camping, gardening, and sneaking in some Pinterest and HGTV. Andrea has decorated many of our model homes.


chris-5598Chris Richards – General Manager

Chris joined the Sunrise Builders team in June of 2002. Chris has over 19 years experience in the Building/Customer Service profession. Chris worked for Menards, Inc for nine years where she started as a part-time cashier and quickly advanced to one of the top three positions at the store level, becoming Office Manager. She held this position for seven years before leaving to join the Sunrise Builders Team. Chris, her Significant Other Brett, along with her two children, Brittany and Tyler reside in Ishpeming. In her free time Chris enjoys camping, walking, being a spectator at drag racing events, spending time with family and helping run Brett’s towing business. Chris provides concierge level service to our clients through the finish selection process and our outstanding warranty program.

nicole-5570Nicole Weldum– Sales & Marketing Manager

Nicole started with the Sunrise Builders team in December 2013.  Prior to working at Sunrise Builders, Inc.,  Nicole spent the last 20 years in sales, and customer service and the last 6 years in banking, most recently with FirstMerit Bank.  Nicole is often the first team member who our clients meet, and she manages the home buying experience, as well as maintaining and building outstanding client relationships.  She is also responsible for the advertising and marketing.  Nicole’s greatest joy is her family; husband Ted and daughter Sierra.  In the summer you can find them on the golf course, mountain biking, or following Sierra’s MSHS Varsity Soccer team and SSA Wave00 travel soccer team.  Winter activities include downhill skiing and snowshoeing. Nicole also loves to garden, read and travel.

Jason-0241Jason Shambaugh- Project Manager

Jason started with Sunrise Builders in April of 2016. He starts all projects from estimating through production. Jason grew up in Central Illinois and entered the home building trade 21 years ago. He started out part-time and liked it so much he entered the trade full-time as a laborer, and that worked into starting a small business 16 years ago. After going to school for business management and blueprinting/drafting he wanted to grow his business and exercise his abilities to the full extent. That required moving to an area that was growing. He and his family moved to West Texas in 2012. He started and ran two successful companies through the oil boom. Once that trend slowed down, he and his wife Laura decided to move back north and chose the Marquette area to buy a home and raise their children. When Jason is not working, his hobbies include fishing, hunting & restoration of various muscle cars in the company of his wife and kids.

Sean-6829-1Sean Hindman– Superintendent

Sean has over 25 years of experience in residential new construction, residential remodeling, and commercial construction. He joined the Sunrise Builders team in 2002. Sean supervises construction crews, manages project timelines, and is always available to answers customer’s on-site questions. During his free time, Sean is an active volunteer in the local mountain biking community. He was instrumental in the planning and construction of the NTN South Trails Pavilion. He regularly contributes to the NTN’s efforts in building and maintaining the single track trail system. With his wife and two sons, he enjoys camping in the Keweenaw Peninsula, skiing mountains near and far, and mountain biking the trails from Marquette to Utah.

Kim Marra-5939Kimberly Marra – Design Manager

Kimberly holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management with a minor in Business Administration from Northern Michigan University.  She also has an Associate of Applied Science degree in Architectural Drafting.  Kim joined Sunrise Builders in 2015, after spending over twelve years as an Architectural Designer at Integrated Designs, Inc. in Marquette, Michigan.  While at IDI, Kim gained valuable experience in building design, providing architectural, structural, and electrical drafting services on a variety of project types including educational, commercial/retail, healthcare, and industrial facilities. Prior to working with IDI, Kim also gained experience working hands-on in residential construction, and assisting with project management and scheduling.   When not at the office, Kim can be found spending time outdoors with her two sons Mathew and Steven, mountain biking, camping, playing soccer, and downhill skiing.
